I'm fortunate enough to have a platform for spreading the word about topics that I feel are important or that I deeply care about. About once ever week to ten days, I write a blog for ClarksvilleNow. After having heard recent comments about folks spraying swarms of bees, I figured it was time to perhaps lower the level of ignorance of the general public. This is the link to the piece I wrote. I am soooooo uber-excited about this years bee adventure. I am sitting in the living room nailing together more hive boxes with anticipation of the arrival of the wolf creek packages and the nucs from Stan. This year I hope to make my hobby into a small business. I have invested a load of money into new additional wooden ware and have my own (thanks to my daughters) honey extractor and am planning on a small shed as my "honey house". Today we received a shipment of supplies. 8 frame brood boxes, medium and shallow supers, inner and outer covers, queen excluders(both 8 and 10 frame), swarm traps, swarm lure, pollen/syrup feeders and KW hive tools.

This morning I was checking on the availability and pricing on some wildflower seed.
This is described as a Southeast Mixture and retails for $29.95 per pound. A pound plants approx. 1/10th of an acre.
